Brown Trout Fly Fishing Watauga River Review

Brown Trout Fly Fishing Review from Orvis Reviews

"A long time friend recommended Brown. I found Brown to be a very well mannered, clean cut, professional young man. His first concern was safety on the river. His second was customer satisfaction. My son brought his own fly rod and tried some of Brown's. I appreciated his advising us against wasting a bunch of money on flies before we got there that likely wouldn't work. Through experience he correctly showed us what did work (saved us money and frustration). His boat was very comfortable and stable. He packed a very nice lunch for us and set up a table and chairs beside the river for a meal in the cool shade with a most wonderful view. He provided a cooler full of cold drinks for us.
Most important Brown knew how to catch fish and showed my 13 year old son and I how to catch fish. He was very patient with constant tangles produced by both of us. We learned much about the habitat, biology, and history of different species of trout and other fish in the river.
In the past we've used "guides" that had no business calling themselves guides. Brown was different. He is not a "cowboy". He is a professional that anyone can feel good introducing their young children to. I highly recommend Brown to anyone."
